My hair is straight and thin, and I’ve done everything and tried many a product to build some body into it. I’ven even gone down the perm route way back when.
These days, I’m less into a permanent solution and often opt to use curling irons to help create some life in my hair. When I had the opportunity to test out a curling iron with 8 wands (yes, 8 wands!) from Irresistible Me, I said yes. After all, eight different types of curl sounded intriguing. Officially, the curling iron is called the Sapphire 8 in 1 Curler. The wand comes with 8 different ceramic, tourmaline infused, interchangeable barrels: 13mm, 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, 18/9mm, 25/13mm, 13/25mm and pearl.
The curling iron:
- Is fast heating (up to 20 seconds) and variable temperature control (230C/450F). This is fabulous as I don’t have a lot of time to do my hair in the morning. With this feature, I can do my entire head in 10 minutes.
- Has an LED screen that shows you the temperature you are at which is handy dandy
- Has an auto shut off feature – a bonus for me as I’m always afraid of leaving it on when I leave for work.
I tried the majority of the wands, and the ones I loved the best to achieve the looks I like these days (beachy, loose waves) are the biggest barrels which are a uniform size all the way from top to bottom. I found you get tighter curls using the wands with the tapered ends. The one with the big balls (haha – this is the one I got a lot of comments about when I posted a picture of the tool on Instagram) did a good job of curling as well – you can wind your hair in between the balls and you get a tighter type of curl. The smaller barrels worked well but I found my hair curled too easily and I looked like a cross between a disco queen and a poodle.
The iron is priced at $199 and available here.
