Channeling #MrsMiaWallace – Urban Decay’s Pulp Fiction Lipstick

Pulp Fiction is one of those movies that has stuck with me over time. I remember quotes from the movie, the infamous dance scene between Uma and John T., and of course, good ole Samuel L. Jackson’s colourful lines. Such a good film if there was ever one. It boggles my mind that it’s been 20 years since it was released.

To celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary, Urban Decay has released a limited edition collection featuring makeup inspired by the movie, particularly Mrs. Mia Wallace. Of the pieces of the collection* I previewed, including a gorgeous eyeshadow palette and a to-die-for red nail polish, I was drawn first to the lipstick and lip pencil aptly called Mrs. Mia Wallace. Of course.

I was a big fan of Mrs. Mia Wallace’s look in the film, and remember trying to copy her lipstick. I loved her hair too but it just wasn’t going to happen — on me, that hair would have made me look like I was back in grade school with the blunt ‘Asian bob’ that I lived with from grades 1 to 3.  😉

Ladies, if you are looking for a statement red lipstick, you need both of these products. Stat.

Mrs. Mia Wallace is a deep blood red. It is one of Urban Decay’s Revolution lipstick formulations meaning it features the Pigment Infusion System, which promises intense colour payoff and creamy shine, as well as Maxi-Lip, which plumps and nourishes lips.

This is one of the most stunning reds I’ve ever put on my lips — and you know I’ve tried my fair share of red lipsticks. This colour packs a punch of colour — there’s no holding back when you’re wearing this. It glides on super creamy but not slippery — it has a matte feel to it but doesn’t look flat on your lips. It lasts and lasts — even if  you blot away some of the colour you are left with a high impact stain.  Pair it with the UD Mrs. Mia Wallace 24/7 Glide-On pencil, and you get the most perfect red lips.

This is the first time I’ve tried UD lipstick and pencil, and I have to say, I’m impressed and want to try more!

In the meantime, I will enjoy wearing Mrs. Mia Wallace this summer, and Fall and Winter….at the mall, at home, at work. Everywhere.

And when you pair the lips with dark sunnies, it just feels badass.

So here I am channeling my inner Mrs. Mia Wallace.

Hope you’re having a great week.
