You Need These: Clinique All About Shadow eyeshadow palettes

When it comes to eyeshadows, I’m all about neutrals. So when I got a chance to give these All About Shadow palettes from Clinique a whirl, I was all over it.

Have you seen these? If not, get thee to a Clinique counter. ASAP.

I tested out a duo, a quad and an 8-pan palette the last few months, and guys, I am in love. I have been reaching for these more than any other eyeshadows lately, including the Urban Decay 1, 2 or 3. Yes, indeedy.

These are not the eyeshadows that I remember “borrowing” from my mother when I was a teenager. Clinique has stepped up its game and given us something great. Really great. These shadows are pigmented, smooth, and apply and blend beautifully. I can’t get enough.

Here’s Uptown Downtown, a duo that is perfect for creating a beautiful smokey eye. See how there’s an image that shows you where to place the colours? Genius. This makes eye makeup super easy to do. I personally can’t get enough of the grey. It has depth of colour and paired with the pink is a sophisticated combination. This is a palette that you can easily use for day or night.

Next is the quad, called Jenna’s Essentials. Jenna Menard is Clinique’s Global Color Artist and these are her eyeshadow picks. This is the perfect starter kit for someone just getting into makeup or looking for a great basic palette. Like the duo above, it alos offers a paint-by-number visual for suggestions on where to put the colours. You can use it for the most simple day time look or kick it up a notch and use it for a dramatic smokey eye. I personally love just wearing #3 on my entire lid and finished with lots of black mascara.

Finally, we have Neutral Territory 2, an 8-pan palette of neutral perfection in my opinion.  I love every single shadow in this palette. Out of the three palettes, this is a must-have-can’t-live-without palette. I feel that strongly about it. The third colour in from the right has been a personal favourite. I like to wear it alone all over the lid for a wash of colour.

This palette has everything a neutral eyeshdow lover needs. It’s a lot more compact than the Urban Decay palettes and is perfect for on-the-go touchups and is travel-friendly.

Now for the swatches. Here are Jenna’s Essentials (left) and Uptown Downtown duo on the right.

And the Neutral Territory palette swatches:

I challenge you to swatch these palettes in person, and not fall in love with at least one.

These and other colours are available now at your local Clinique counter or online.

Clinique’s new eye shadows are to put it simply, amazing!!! I have the 8 pan palette and reach for it every morning. I just can’t get past the smoothness, blendability and how long lasting they are! If I didn’t have dupes already I would totally get Jenna’s Essentials. Glad to know you like them too. :)

I’ve been eyeing that 8-eyeshadow palette but I haven’t seen any reviews so thank you for this and the swatches.

Hi Nikki, It is a lovely palette and not talked about as much as the other neutral palettes out there. Let me know if you end up getting it!
