To the Rescue! Kiehl’s and Maybelline

Baby, it’s cold outside. At least in my part of the world it is. And it’s only the beginning. In this weather, my skin and lips react by getting dry. Super dry.  Two products that have come to the rescue for me are: Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer and Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue.

First, let’s talk Baby Lips. I’ve been a big fan of these since they came out. I use them daily. I thought the Baby Lips Neon were my favourite but Dr. Rescue might just surpass it.  These just launched, but I was to get samples a couple of weeks ago. According to Maybelline, in one minute, Dr.Rescue will soothe lips, in one day, it will smooth and in one week, your lips will be renewed.  It comes in six neutral tints but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed wearing the clear one under lipstick and gloss. I also enjoy putting it on before bed. It certainly does soothe and my lips are far from chapped, which is a miracle given how my lips normally react to this weather (brrrrr!).

I like the white packaging too, making it really stand out from the other Baby Lips tubes I have in my collection.

Now, on to skin. In the winter, and with the heaters on at work and at home, my skin has a tendency to get dry and red.  Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer* has done wonders to prevent this from happening.

It has been my go-to moisturizer for months, and now that winter is here, it’s been even more helpful. According to Kiehl’s, Skin Rescuer is designed to reduce the look of skin’s signs of stress, including skin fatigue and redness due to dry skin with Rosa Gallica Botanical Extract, Mannose and Chamomile.

It doesn’t have any overpowering scent, and it absorbs easily into the skin, making it perfect under makeup. It doesn’t feel or make my skin look greasy. The bottle has 25 fl oz. (75 ml), which worried me at first as I thought I’d run out of this quickly. But like I said, it’s lasted me a couple of months and I’m still not done. A little really goes a long way, and my skin is very thankful for it.

I too swear by Nuxe Rêve de Miel but use it only at night since the jar isn’t too practical to carry. For daytime I love Caudalie’s but I’ll grab one of these for sure. Seems I can never have enough lip balms. That spray sounds perfect for those -70°C days when my skin gets irritated from the cold! Thanks for the info Michelle! 🙂
