Got the Vacation Glow: Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Color Corrector
I was on vacation with the fam the last two weeks, and once again, my makeup bag overfloweth. Funny thing is I didn’t use much of what I brought. In fact, I only grabbed two things on a daily basis: something to even out and protect my skin, and a sheer lip colour. That’s it.
The ‘something’ I used to even out and protect my skin from the sun was Clinique’s new Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Color Corrector*. Ladies, having worn this every day for two weeks straight, let’s say I’m a CC Cream convert. Yessiree bob.
It did wonderful things to brighten and even out my skintone.
But what the heck is a CC Cream and how is it different from a BB Cream? Well, let me tell you, I’m overwhelmed by the information that’s out there. From what I can gather here are the main differences:
BB Creams offer antioxidants and other beneficial ingredients for the skin. It’s lighter than foundation but offer a bit more coverage than tinted moisturizer. CC Cream stands for colour correcting, and is designed to different concerns like redness, sallowness, and dullness.
Got it? I am still not sure but all I can say is that this Clinique product did great things to even out my skin tone and protect it from sunburn during extended periods of time out in the skin. I tested out the shade in Medium which is designed for fair to medium skin tones. At first, it looks really light on my skin but after blending it through it disappeared and I felt like my skin looked more even and less blotchy. It absorbs quickly and once on, feels very light almost to the point that you don’t feel like you’re wearing makeup. It’s supposed to be hydrating and for someone who tends to get dry in areas, this is definitely welcome.
Here’s a before, an after, and an after after with minimal eye makeup and lipstick.
Overall, I was more than pleased with my first CC Cream experience.
Over to you, have you tried CC Creams?
