From Polka Dots to Liquid Sand, nail polish trends I wish I could rock but can’t…
It seems like there are new nail polish formulations each and every day. I’ve always had a fascination with these new textures since the good old crackle polish days. In theory, I love these new formulas. I’m attracted to them like there’s no tomorrow.
As soon as one lands on my lap or I see one in store, I am sold. Case in point, the most amazing new polishes* from Maybelline. Polka dots. Gorgeous. When I first saw these, I loved and instantly applied the blue polka dots on my nails. So very pretty indeed! Same thing happened a couple months back with the OPI Bond Girls Liquid Sand* polishes and Revlon Girly, which I bought on a whim whilst browsing the Shopper’s Drug Mart aisles.
But no matter how much I try and want to love these types of polishes, I cannot. Why? One reason: I can’t stand how hard these types of polishes are to remove. Yes, I’ve read all the tips and tricks on how you can make polish removal easy peasy. But I’m lazy, and I don’t care to sit there soaking my nails or wrapping foil around each finger. When I want to switch a polish I want it off. Pronto. One swipe. We each have our things right? This is my thing
I know these are highly popular and I cannot deny that all these types of polishes are beautiful. I love that brands are offering us so much selection and the ability to create such works of art with one swipe of a brush.
But I think I’m done. I’m going to stick to using stencils, tape and other ways to create my versions of nail art.
What do you think of these kinds of polishes? Love them or hate them?
