Mad about Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Rouge
The moment I first put on Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Rouge, I heard the lipstick angels sing. The song? ‘What a Feeling’ from Flashdance. Remember that movie?
Yes indeed, the feeling of this lipstick was glorious. Can I even call it a lipstick? It’s actually a liquid lip colour that stains but has the feel of a gloss. I have it in the colour Pomegranate Pink #19*, which is simply one of the most beautiful bright pinks I’ve ever seen. It’s more of a warm reddish pink that instantly brightens. The colour is opaque, but the consistency is smooth, creamy and not sticky.
Aqua Rouge’s double-ended packaging allows for a simple, two-step application: you apply lip colour with the foam applicator, let it set and then apply the clear gloss on top with the accompanying brush to lock the colour in. Once it is on, according to MUFE, it is smudge-proof and won’t transfer and fade.
I have to tell you guys, this is true. I put this on at 7 a.m. in the morning, ate a juicy burger for lunch (and it was delish!), and I still had colour on my lips at the end of it. I got a good six to seven hours of wear from this. Best of all, it never felt dry or uncomfortable. I’ve been wearing it almost every day since I got it — and for a girl with hundreds of lipsticks, that is a true testament to how happy this product makes me.
This gets an A+ in my books. I’m now eyeing the other colours…particularly the orangey coral that I’ve seen some of my blogger friends sporting.
What a feeling indeed!
Tell me, have you tried this? What colour do you recommend?
