Mary Kay True Dimensional Lipsticks Review & Swatches

There’s more new lipsticks in LipstickRules town. Imagine that. This time they are from Mary Kay, and they are called True Dimensional*.

These lipsticks fall into the lipstick hybrid category that I wrote about the other day when I reviewed Maybelline Color Whispers. I honestly love the direction the makeup industry is going with this type of formulation. Love, love, love.

The True Dimensional lipsticks ($19 each) are packaged in sleek silver tubes with cool click-tops. They are supposed to boost collagen production, helping to make lips look firm and full. The line has a wide range of colours, from sheer pink to dark plum.

On the lips, they are creamy and smooth. I’m not sure whether they make my lips look fuller but I can say I like the way my lips look when I wear some of these colours. ¬†The lighter shades such as Color Me Coral and Pink Chere are lovely and perfect for everyday wear. I found the darker colours like Sizzling Red and Firecracker really pretty and highly pigmented. The darker colours somehow feel a bit more slippery than the lighter, so I would recommend wearing liner with those.

Swatches are below.

My favourites from the collection are Wild about Pink, Firecracker and Mystic Plum.

Have you tried anything from Mary Kay recently?
