You Light Up My Face: CoverGirl Jumbo Gloss Balm #250

There’s nothing like a bright lip colour to brighten my day. On this day, the colour of choice was a sheer red, #250 Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm.

Similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks, the Gloss Balms look like thick lip pencils. They glide on like lipstick and offer the shine of gloss. This sheer red added the perfect amount of colour to waken up my makeup-less face. I think this colour is ideal for those who want to try wearing a red but aren’t ready to fully commit to a statement lip.

The product feels nice on my lips and I love the glossy shine. If you’re looking for a long-wearing product, however, this isn’t it. I find the Clinique products to last longer. These contain Shea and Mango butters so they feel very moisturizing. What I also love about this is that you don’t need to sharpen. Just simply twist up and you get more product.

Priced at about $9, these are a fantastic buy.

Have you tried the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balms? Any colour recommendations?

Exactly what I thought. Bolder colors give better results. I reviewd Mauve Twist 275 which barely showed on my lips. I just might give this one a go, it looks super nice on you!

You’re right- it does light up your face nicely. Shame about the wear time, although that’s what I expected from these products, even the Clinique version.

Thanks Jen. I think I can live with the wear time as long as they show colour. This one does. I’ve heard of others that don’t.
