Inspired to Wear Red Lipstick Again
I’m on a red lipstick kick again. Inspired by a recent video by makeup artist Lisa Eldridge, I have been digging around my collection for my favourite reds. Today I wore one of them: Maybelline SuperStay 14 hour Lipstick in Ravishing Rouge, which to me looks like a tomato red.
Ravishing Rouge is an easy red to wear. It is neither too cool or warm, and I think would look lovely on many skintones. Be warned though, when you look at the colour in the tube you will see a hint of glitter and sometimes that glitter does apply on your lips. I personally don’t love that but I love the colour so much I try to just ignore the glitter.
As for the promise of being a long-lasting lipstick, I have to say this line has never let me down. I get a good 10 hours of wear. I have yet to test out the 14 hour claim…quite simply because I don’t get out much. 
I can attest to the fact this lipstick lasts me an entire work day and into the dinner hour.

Beautiful colour on you! I keep trying to wear red lipstick but its not for the faint of heart. Agreed that Lisa E’s video was inspirational though – tomorrow red lips for me!

Gorgeous! I’m not 100% sure about the glitter, but the color is fabulous on you! I do actually wear red lipsticks when there isn’t really an occasion as well

I don’t wear red lipstick often because I’m a student without a job and I don’t find enough occasions to do so, sadly. But I love red lips and I love NARS’s Dragon Girl.

That color looks amazing on you! I almost bought that lipstick based on the Lisa Eldridge video as well! I actually wanted the Endless Ruby shade.
I almost never wear red lips but only because it never lasts on my lips and most long wearing formulas are drying. Do you find this Maybelline one drying?

Hi Annick, thank you! It’s very very comfortable on the lips. I tend to get dry lips but I find this lovely to wear.

The color is amazing! But what about the glitter, you mentioned? Is it always visible or does it depend on your lips condition?

Hi Helga, it isn’t always visible. The glitter is definitely not overpowering. It’s just there

This color looks good on you! I go back to red lipsticks from time to time. It’s a trend that’ll never die!
