A Beauty Tip from Another Blogger: Creating Flawless Skin Using MUFE HD Kabuki brush
I have used many a technique to apply my foundation — from fingers to assorted foundation brushes. But nothing, I mean nothing, has ever come close to how great my skin looks after using the Make Up For Ever HD Kabuki brush to buff my foundation in. It is amazing to see.
Credit goes to Andi from Saltwater Dreams who posted about how she uses this brush to create flawless skin. After reading her post, I was intrigued. I’ve been using the kabuki brush to buff in the MUFE HD powder after foundation — I never thought of using it for foundation. I’m so glad I gave it a shot — it is a game-changer! Never going back to my other methods.
Basically, I dot my foundation around the areas I want to cover and then buff it all out with the brush. I love how evenly it distributes the foundation and the natural glowy finish that I’ve been trying to achieve for eons. Surprisingly, the brush doesn’t absorb too much product making application easy peasy on a daily basis.
Click on the above to enlarge. Bottom left is the before. Bottom right is after the foundation has been buffed into the skin. Middle is the finished look with a bit of blush and lipstick.
I’m loving this technique so much that I think I need another brush just to have on hand.
Hat’s off to Andi for such a great tip!

You know what, I’ve been using a kabuki brush a lot lately to apply my foundation too! It makes the foundation just melt into the skin and look more seamless! Great tip for everyone to try out

It’s a fabulous idea isn’t it?

Great tip! I have the MUFE kit, but I usually use the brush with the finishing powder, so I’ll have to try this out.

Let me know if you do! It’s changed my life. Seriously

This is the sort of tip I love, thanks Michelle! Recently I have been using the Bobbi Brown foundation brush but this morning I noticed (shock horror) brush strokes so needed to finish off with fingers which seems to defeat the object. So now I need to get my paws on a kabuki brush..drat, I was in Sephora last week in Paris where they have MUFE…don’t think we can get this brand on the High Street here..

Hey Blighty, you could probably try this out with any kabuki brush. I have a couple of others and will give it a try and report back!

Michelle, sssssh, don’t tell Mr Blighty but as I don’t have a kabuki brush at all I found a UK supplier on-line and ordered the MUFE brush yesterday – they are called Precious About Makeup for any other UK followers!

When I met with the PR rep and makeup artist from MUFE Canada a couple months ago, the MUA showed me this trick too – so effective!! I also never even considered using the brush this way, it’s such a great trick

Isn’t it great? It makes me feel like I’m not wearing foundation at all.
Jun 12, 2012 @ 21:42:03
Okay – I’ve got to try this…

I’ve read so many great things about the MUFE Kabuki brush.. I must get it and try it for foundation as I don’t own a kabuki brush.. The results you’ve shown look really nice!!
Thanks for sharing =)

Using kabuki brush with my foundation is very helpful, it leaves my skin smooth and flawless. Its like I’m not wearing my foundation at all.

Wish I had known about it sooner!
