Green with Envy, and Why I’ll Never Succeed as A Nail Polish Blogger
I love nail polishes. But there’s a BIG reason why I’ll never succeed as a nail polish blogger. Case in point: my so-called manicure below. Need I say more? Yikes! If you can look past my poor application, the colour is gorgeous isn’t it? It’s Green with Envy from Maybelline’s new Color Show nail polish collection.

The Color Show collection features 3o polishes in a variety of textures and hues (10 of which belong to three separate collections: denim, metallics, and shredded textures). Each polish retails for about $3 at Walmart and for less than $4 each at drugstores and other mass retailers.
I’ve now tried two of the eight colours below: Green with Envy and Styled Out (one of the Denim colours). I’m impressed with both in terms of the colour impact. It took two coats for each to get full coverage, and I’ve gone chip-free for three days. For someone who tends to nick a mani right away, that is a good sign.
I also liked how fast they dried. I am not one to wait for my nails to dry. (Dear Michelle, maybe that’s another reason why your nails look the way they do?
)

I think this range is amazing for its price point and quality. Perfect timing for summer manis and pedis.
I’ll show more colours in the coming weeks. Tell me if there’s a colour above that catches your eye.

Thanks Sue. I love green in the summer.

I would like to see the golden, jeans (dark blue?) and the purple one
. They seem just gorgeous!

Hey Tamara, consider it done! I will have swatches soon.
May 21, 2012 @ 18:22:35
This is such a soft and pretty color! I like it!
I’d love to see the green and the gold if it’s not too much to ask! Not surprising colors for me to ask either haha

Sure thing Sunny!

Love that green!! It’s so summery! I need to check these out. I seem to be polish bored at the moment.

I love this colour! My favourite kind of green… <3

I agree about them drying fast! My Green With Envy dried super fast!
May 22, 2012 @ 01:15:44
I love that green! I also have trouble with nail polish shots – my nails look fine in person, but close up shots show allll the mess!
May 22, 2012 @ 19:25:32
Glad I’m not alone

If you’re just as impatient as me, you should try some quick dry drops and a very fast drying top coat.

Hey Tracy, good tip. I just bought an Essie top coat. Will give it a shot!

I am in love with thèse nail polishes! My current fave (I own 5 shades) is Orange Fix! =)
May 22, 2012 @ 19:25:50
Orange?! I need that!
May 22, 2012 @ 16:24:59
that green apple colored one looks super fun! but i also dig the mint green shade you have on here. i’m with ya lady, my manicures suck when i do them myself, but i’m too cheap to pay for mani/pedis bc i hate people i don’t know messing with my hands and feet. a weird phobia of mine:) chip free for 3 days huh?? pretty good i’d say!
May 22, 2012 @ 19:27:10
I agree! I’ll swatch the green for ya. I am okay with paying for pedis but manis for me aren’t worth it cause I always get it messed up within hours.
May 23, 2012 @ 22:23:58
I like the green and pink – think i will give it a try – thanks Michelle! The price point is fantastic!

Michelle, I think your manicure looks great, and I love the minty-cool green, but I know just what you mean. I take utter crap manicure pictures. In fact, I might think I did a pretty good job at application, but the digital macro will show every single flaw.
Those first two colors in your lineup make me feel swoony.
May 24, 2012 @ 20:36:17
Thanks Zuzu! I like to think it’s the camera’s fault sometimes but alas it does tell the truth in this case. LOL. I will post swatches of the first two for you!

I saw an ad for these in the new glamour and was super curious. It looks like I need to do some more investigating

Mint green is in this summer! I go for that one. It looks nice on you complements your skin tone.

Just bought this shade and I love it! Looks like the Essie colors but $5 less
