How a British Cooking Show Has Increased My Appetite for More…Red Lipstick!
My appetite for red lipstick has increased ten-fold since discovering a new cooking show. Yes, you read it correctly, a cooking show. Called Little Paris Kitchen, the show centres on a British girl named Rachel Khoo who moved to Paris to cook and now runs a restaurant — and her show — from her small apartment in Paris. Rachel cooks French food but it is French with a twist and something that seems very attainable for even the most inexperienced cook (like me!). Aside from making me want to cook her food and also visit Paris again, Rachel has also influenced me in terms of…makeup. Never have my two of my favorite pastimes ever collided like this before!
Rachel sports a bright matte red or fuchsia lip in almost every episode. Each time I watch the show, I want to slap on a matte red lipstick…and start whipping up croque madame muffins and souffles in my little kitchen in…the suburbs of Toronto. Hmmm….
I’m quite obsessed with finding out what colours Rachel wears. I have my guesses (Russian Red, Ruby Woo, Girl About Town) and I hope that with a little more research I can find out.
In the meantime, I was inspired to wear red today, choosing Maybelline ColorSensational in Rubylicious.
Such a delicious colour. Here I am doing my best to channel Rachel Khoo.
Ladies across the pond, have you seen this show and if so, what do you think of it and Rachel’s lipstick style? Canadian girls, wondering how I am able to watch this show? Let’s just say my other half is quite resourceful when it comes to technology

I saw a tweet a while ago about the lippy she wears, I think it was ‘Russian Red’…Can’t remember which the pink was, but it was another MAC item!

She is gorgeous, she wears a beautiful vibrant pink that I love, especially as she pairs it with a jade shortsleeved cardigan. Sadly my thinner lips do not suit drawing attention to but you have nailed it. Very lovely.

She says it’s Cherry Lush by Tom Ford, semi-matte, if that means anything to you! I am outside my comfort zone with cost of Tom Ford lipsticks though did get one at a discount outlet here in UK a while ago, Bicester Village…OMG!!!! have just checked – it is Cherry Lush!! so think is is discontinued now – and now I am in terrible dilemma – it’s so smart with its white and gold case, I had put it away to give to my mother as a present….oh the guilt, the lipstick lust – no, couldn’t live with myself, Grandma gets it!! Excuse ramble, need to get out more!!
