LipstickRules Readers: Embrace the Bold!

Afraid of bold and bright lips? Let’s throw that thinking out the window. Embrace the bold my friends.  Whether you’re just starting off and want to try brights or have already embraced the bold, I’m challenging you, my readers, to show me what you’ve got. Send me a picture with your bold lippies, what colour and brand it is. I will feature you and/or your blog in an upcoming post celebrating the best of bright lips. Fun yes?

I’ll get things started. I wear bold lippies in three different ways.  The simplest way is to pick a bright colour like YSL Rouge Volupte Perle #114. I simply swipe the colour on for full intensity or dab it on for more of stain effect.

For a true statement lip, I add a bright gloss on top of a bright lipstick. Here I used YSL Golden Gloss in #114 on top of the Rouge Volupte Perle in #114.

Flirty, n’est pas?

The final choice is often the most office appropriate for me, and that is choosing a sheer formula. It’s making a more understated statement. Here I’m wearing Rouge D’Armani Sheers Hydrating Lip Colour in #500 Pink.
