I Came. I Saw. I Walked Away…
First of all, I bid adieu to Google Friend Connect. As you probably know, as of tomorrow, it’s going away for blogs that are not on the Blogspot (Blogger) platform. So for people like me, this is it! For those that have followed my blog on good old GFC, I hope that we will continue to connect via RSS, Twitter, Bloglovin’ and on my new Facebook page. All links are above on the right side of my site in case you’re interested — and I hope you are!
Ok, on to my ramble.
I strolled into Sephora the other day, and did something I had not done in a long time. I swatched NARS Lhasa eyeshadow and Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed, loved what I swatched and…walked away! A year ago, I would have had both items with me at the cash register probably with a couple of other items.
The next day, I stopped by the MAC counter and swatched a few lipsticks. Absolutely nothing caught my attention enough to make me purchase.
What the heck has happened to me?!
Is it a case of makeup overload or have I finally become a smarter shopper?
Maybe it’s a bit of both. And I’m not sure if it’s a permanent state of affairs.
How is your week going?

Lol I know what you mean. And good on you for walking away. I don’t even go to counters anymore coz there’s really nothing I need or want (except for replacing my used up products). It may just be a phase but I don’t have the urge anymore

Do you think we reached our makup peak? LOL. These days I’m more obsessed over clothes and purses

Ah yes, you’ve got the curse! It’s happened to me so much. The first time I walked away from a Sephora in two years and walked away with two items. Scandalous! Don’t worry, you shall get it back!

You are preaching to the choir! I am in a bit of a makeup slump where nothing in particular has urged me to purchase. Maybe spring will bring back some more excitement but all together I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. Not to mention that I have reached capacity in my makeup storage and continual think “no normal person needs this much!”

Hear hear! Wondering if we will last till summer like this

Hey Michelle, hurrah for the self-discipline! Bravo! The MAC spring collections are finally hitting the stores here this week (after everybody has raved about them in North American lol), and I’m already plotting my Saturday to check them out! Can’t promise I’ll do a major haul or anything, but I kinda sorta want a couple of items… I have Tarte Exposed and love it, though if you have other “my cheeks but better” blushes you don’t really need it. Contrary to what the brand promises, this doesn’t last for 12 hours on me. In my personal experience Cargo blushes are the ones that party all day! xx

This is good to know re:Exposed. I have so many my cheeks but better colours so I really don’t need this. I just convince myself that I do sometimes

I said no to Chanel a couple of days ago… and I wasn’t going to buy it… someone wanted to buy something for me, they just wanted to be sure I wanted it first. The product looked beautiful (it was the Brompton Road Poudre Tissee form the Knightsbridge Collection) but I just didn’t get that “I have to have it feeling” so I said no… later I was also wondering if something is wrong with me…

No to Chanel? Lucy you are my hero. I have yet to walk away from Chanel. Luckily I don’t have a counter near me so it’s easy to avoid the temptation. Let me know if you cave in okay?
