Qs 4 U: How Do You Choose Your Makeup…and How Do You Remember What You Have?

It’s no secret among those that know me that I have a lot of makeup. Not trying to be boastful at all. Just the facts. I have a problem you know. ;-) I’ve been asked lately how I’m able to choose from what I have, and how I remember what I have. The answers? It all depends, and sometimes I do forget.

When it comes to how I choose products for a look, sometimes I reach for what I see first and base a look around the first product I select. Other times, it’s more planned out such as if I see a look on YouTube that I want to try or I have a lipstick colour, for example, that I want to build a look around. My choices can also be based on what I’m wearing or what it’s like outside. That is what is amazing about makeup – the possibilities really are endless.

As for how remembering what I have? Let’s just call that a work in progress.  I’ve been making more of an effort to go through my collection, and purge or put into ‘rotation’ some of my old-time favorites.  I’ve thought about creating a chart but even though I’m a Type A personality, I think this even for me is too extreme — and simply too much work ;-) So instead, I’ve decided to pick out a few favorites at the beginning of every week and try to use these during the week.

Over to you: how do you choose based on what you have? And if you have a lot, how do you keep track of it all?
