Lives Up to the Hype: L’Oreal Paris’ La Coleur Infallible Eyeshadows
L’Oreal Paris’ La Couleur Infallible eyeshadows are Holy-Grail status type of shadows in my books. It took me a while to finally try them, and I’m kicking myself for not trying them sooner.
With 11 colours available (or are there more now?), there is something for everyone. What I love is that what you see in the pan is what you get. The texture is a cross between cream and powder, and super soft to the touch. This is to me similar to its higher end cousin, the Armani Eyes to Kill, which is suitable since the parent companies are one and the same.
The shadows are described as long-wearing, crease-resistant and smudge resistant — and it’s true. When applying, the product does set quite quickly so you do need to work fast. Once it is on, it does not budge. My only gripe is that the shadows are bit sparkly and frosty — a look I have to be careful about.
In terms of packaging, the colour you see through the container is actually the bottom of the pan. To get at the product, you have to flip the container over, unscrew the lid and remove the black stopper which keeps the shadow in place.
I tested out 9 of the 11 shades available. The ones I’m showing above are my favorites:
- Hourglass Beige
- Time Resist White.
- Forever Pink
- Flashback Silver
- Permanent Kaki
In the swatch the Hourglass Beige and Time Resist White look very similar. They are but Hourglass Beige has a bit more golden undertones. Both are wonderful as highlights. Forever pink and Flashback Silver both look great as a wash of colour on the lids, while Permanent Kaki looks amazing as a smokey eye.
Overall, these get an A-plus from me, and I’m intrigued to see what other colours, and hopefully textures, are added to the collection.
Have you tried these shadows?

These are HG status for me! I now own 7 of these – you should definitely check out the LE Fall collection – there’s a patina colour (Bronze Divine) that’s so sophisticated, I wouldn’t have guessed it was a drugstore product. The texture of these are quite interesting, I dropped an OPENED container and the powder inside did not budge one bit! (I thought I’d have a mess on my hands!) I find the darker colours not as frosty – I highly recommend Burning Black and Endless Chocolate, which are from the permanent shades.

Oh, I like the look of Hourglass Beige. I’ve not come across that colour before but I think I would have picked that over Time Resist White that I bought recently.

I’ve got 9 and 15, and the Burning Black – I love them all! Great dupe for Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eye Shadows!

I like them, but I still prefer the Armani ones over these. They’re just a tad smoother I think.

I haven’t tried these because the colors just haven’t been tempting. They’re nice, just don’t seem too unique. BUT I did see some new colors on US-based blogs so I’m very excited that we’ll be getting some nice golds and bronzes soon. And then I’m DEFINITELY trying them out! Glad to hear the live up to the hype.
