December: In and Out
How can it be December? Where did the year go? Today, I hope you don’t mind a bit of rambling, i.e. the December In and Out list.
IN
1) This week I witnessed the birth of my new baby nephew. It was such a privilege and the most awesome experience. I’ve had two kids of my own but it’s a different experience altogether when you’re not the one doing all the work. It is truly a miracle. I also surprised myself and didn’t faint.
2) Top Chef. Love this show. That is all.
3) Back to makeup. I am all about eyeliner lately, whether it’s a winged liner just on the top lid or all around a la Kate Middleton.
4) I am also addicted to plain old champagne or beige eyeshadows. I wear it with, well, eyeliner. Simple easy peasy look. One of my current favorites is NARS Nepal.
5) Rediscovering old favorites in my collection. I haven’t been spending a lot on makeup lately so I’ve been focusing on using up what I have. I have to tell you that I’ve found things I bought a while back that I completely forgot I had such as this fabulous pink lipstick from Chanel (Insolente). I need to do a better job of this and am really focused on showing more love to these old favorites.
OUT
1) Same as November, I’m not loving the darkness when I leave home for work and when I get back. Summer, where are you?
2) Overly aggressive drivers, and drivers who are not thinking about what they are doing. I drive to and from work, and it drives me bonkers when people tail gate me or cut me off. Equally bad are drivers who think they are the only ones on the road. Grrrrrr.
3) Sticky lipgloss. I can’t get over it. Case in point: MAC lipglass. Love the colours, not the formula.
What’s on your In and Out list this month?

In: Those new Revlon lip butters! They’re identical to the Dior Addict lipsticks, and about $20 cheaper.
Out: Canned tuna packed in water. Once you try Callipo tuna in olive oil, you’ll be amazed at the difference.

Hi Susanne, I need to get my hands on those Revlon lip butters! I’m not a big fan of tuna but maybe it is the water issue. Will look up tuna in olive oil!

Eyeliner is my #1 must-have-on-at-all-times makeup item. Without it, I feel as though my eyes are invisible. If I only had time to put on one thing, eyeliner would be it (although that never happens.) I do it Kate Middleton style.
I also hate sticky lipglosses — which is why I never wear lipgloss. I haven’t found any that last long on me except for the sticky ones, and I can’t stand it when my lip color disappears.

I agree with you on both fronts!

Congratulations Auntie Michelle!!
I love this post.
IN: Black eyeliner all the way, like Kristin, I am lined all day everyday a la Kate Middleton.
Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipsticks (scored two at a cosmetics warehouse sale last week for $10 each, they are amazing)
OUT: Dry cleaning. I just brought a massive pile of non-washables in and can never get over how expensive it is!!

Thanks my friend! I love how you do your eyes. I need to learn how to do it better. Review those Elizabeth Arden lipsticks for me? I don’t buy much that I need to dry clean either!

I pulled a pretty big haul at the Lisa Cosmetics warehouse sale last week, can review those lippies and some other stuff…

Nepal looks so pretty! I am with you on the whole darkness thing. But the 21st is the winter solstice, so it’s only uphill from there, right?!

Nepal is a beautiful neutral! Good point Danielle – light at the end of the tunnel

sounds like a very busy time for you! Haha, let’s trade.. I want my winter back – I love the extra light but the heat & humidity is killing me! >___<;; Oh.. y'know .. this amy sound immature but it's a lot of fun tail gating.. not so much fun when you're being tail gated though :'(
