Hello Clinique Chubby Sticks, Where Have You Been All My Life?

Remember a while back I showed you how many lip products I carry on average in my purse? If you missed it, I would say I carry an average of 10 lip products a week in my purse. No joke. The past couple of weeks I was lugging around my usual load plus four additional lippies in the form of Clinique’s Chubby Sticks, a.k.a. my new obsessions.

Chubby Sticks are crayon-like pencils that are a hybrid lipstick/lipgloss/lip balm. They’ve made the rounds on many a beauty blog, and I’m happy to report that I think they live up to the hype. Colour, shine and moisture in one nifty package? What’s not to love.

I tried four colours: Mega Melon, Whole Lotta Honey, Woppin’ Watermelon and Super Strawberry. On my pigmented lips these are more subtle on me but they still give a good amount of colour. The shine is gorgeous and it feels super comfortable on the lips — they are not at all sticky. Another cool thing is the applicator — it twists up like a lipstick so you never have to sharpen it. Gotta love that.

Chubby Sticks are a great option for those not ready to commit to lipstick but enjoy the shine of lipgloss.

Ladies in Canada, this Limited Edition Chubby Colour & Shine gift set ($38.50) is currently available at Murale and Shopper’s Drug Mart.  A great gift idea or something to add to your wish list?

Have you tried Clinique Chubby Sticks?

I don’t know if it’s the exact same set, but I’m positive I’ve seen this at Sephora as well. =) You should also check out the Tarte Lip Service gift set from Sephora – you get 5 full size products for around the same price. 😉

LOVE these! They’re perfect for on the go, you don’t even need a mirror to reapply (I basically just swipe it between my lips). Good tip about the set!

Oh my goodness the shades are lovely! I don’t know why I just never thought I’d particularly like these. I did purchase the Tarte Lip Surgence sticks, though, and I’m thinking that I really like the “chubby stick” style product. I may have to pick a few of these up!

Ooooh love these! I’m not much of a lipstick wearing and enjoy lighter pinks and peaches and glosses, so, these are a lovely alternative!

These definitely look like a must-try for me. They sound like the perfect product! Hopefully they’ll have them at Sephora; must check it out. 🙂

I bought one of these years ago – in Vanilla Brown, I think is the shade. Very nice and portable. No messy spills as long as I keep the lid on.

I LOVE THESE! I have Chunky Cherry and am sorely tempted to get Woppin’ Watermelon too, even though another pink lip product is the last thing I need.

I bought these when you had to sharpen them. I loved the product but hated that I wasted product when sharpening the tip. Glad they changed the packaging so I might have to check these out again.

I too have been asking where they have been all my life – they are simply fantastic. Like you said, the colors are sheer, which I like – it gives a very natural look, like you’re not wearing makeup at all. I also love how, when I reapply, some go WHAT is that? A crayon?! Haha. My favorite is Mega Melon. 🙂

I love these! I read your review when the post first went up and then saw them in a department store today and had the chance to swatch. I went for richer raisin and I love the packaging, it’s do cute without being too teenagery (which is what I normally associate Clinique with!).

When swatching my pregnant brain just could not remember where I heard or saw a recommendation about these until
I got home and could check. So thanks for leading me to
    a great product!
