Annabelle SmudgePaints are brilliant. And I’m not the only one who thinks so. A few of us on Twitter (@Sparkled_Beauty @cinnamonkitten @macbella @rasilla and @cherzmaster) have been declaring our love for these gel-cream-eyeshadow & liners since the products launched in early September. We’ve even dubbed ourselves the SmudgePaint Junkies.
Priced at around $12.99 CAN, SmudgePaints can be worn as a liner or packed on the lid as a shadow for high drama. There are five colours available. The four colours I have are: Sludge (a dark chocolate brown); Skyline (a rich navy blue); Tar (rich black); and Plummed (a blackened plum with a hint of shimmer). There is a convenient built-in brush applicator — and don’t worry this applicator is actually wonderful to work with. It can draw precise lines or pack on colour no problemo.
The product itself is uber smooth to apply. Once you smudge or line, however, the product dries instantly. On me, it does not budge all day. LOVE!
I adore Sludge (third from the top) which I like to wear as a heavy liner during the day. I like to think I channel Adele’s makeup look when I wear this. Plummed, which is much prettier than my swatch above, is the perfect colour for fall.
These are comparable, and dare I say better than, my usual beloveds: Blacktrack Fluidline from MAC and Bobbi Brown gel liners. Since SmudgePaints came into my life, I have worn the gel liners less frequently.
Below I’m wearing Skyline as a liner during the day. I love how it adds a pop of colour on the lid. It’s a nice alternative to brown and black.
These are must-have products in my opinion. If they’re not available in your country, I would put them on your wish list in case you ever do a swap with a Canadian girl 😉 Canadian girls, run to your nearest drugstore or supermarket. Seriously.
