Lipstick Love: Spotlight on Marcelle’s Rouge Xpression Lipsticks
Ever since I can remember, I’ve had a love of lipsticks. I used to be the girl in university with the MAC lipstick “store” in my room. That was years back. Today, we all know where that love has taken me. I get excited each time I open a new tube of lipstick. I really do.
Today, I’m particularly excited to share with you a new line of lipsticks I was able to test out from Canada’s Groupe Marcelle. Rouge Xpression, launched this month in Canada, features 12 colours, from nudes to bright reds. The lipsticks include avocado oil, which is said to help prevent chapped lips. According to Marcelle, “its velvety and creamy formula, not sticky at all, procures absolute comfort in lavish, opaque hues. Vitamins C and E enrich this lipstick with their antioxidant properties while Maxi-Lip™, an oligopeptide complex, delivers a plumping effect on the lips’ pulp. This first-class moisturizer also reduces furrows, improves general skin texture and contributes to achieve a better lip contour definition and plumping effect when used daily.”
Sounds good eh? Here’s my take:
These lipsticks are highly pigmented (one swipe is all you need!), and have a creamy velvet texture so they go on like butter. I feel slightly OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) when I have one of these in my hands — I can’t stop applying! The colour range offers something for everyone. I really enjoy all the colours, from nudes to berries, and even bright red-orange which reminds me of Joan from Mad Men (have you noticed that I have been mentioning this TV show in all my posts lately? Talk about obsession). My favorites so far are the reds including Sensation and Provocative.
The lipsticks are also promoted as lip plumping though for someone with full lips like me, it’s hard to judge. What I can say is that my lips never feel dry when I wear these lipsticks. They also have good lasting power. I even wore one of the reds (Sensation) at a wedding and danced the night away without any slippage (I’m referring to the lipstick and not my dancing skills). These lipsticks have a high-end feel but are well priced at $11.95 (suggested retail price).
I am giving them a big two thumbs up!
The Swatches
Given how many I had to swatch, I’m hoping I labelled them right! I hope to do some FOTDs soon showing some of these lipsticks with a full makeup look so you can see how nice they really are.

| My favorites are Delight and Sensation. Excuse the goosebumps btw. Excitement maybe?! |

| Euphoria is a my lips but better colour while Delirium is such a unique orange/red. I am loving the reds from this collection |
Marcelle will be adding more colours to this line — and I can honestly say, bring it on!

I've seen these in Rexall since a few weeks ago and swatched them on my hand. The texture's really really nice. It applies so easily. I didn't buy any yet coz I'm waiting for your review haha… Btw, they do offer $2 coupons for these lippies in drugstores.
Btw, have been stalking you for sometime but dropped a note just now
Are you filipina?
