Rediscovered: Chanel Aqualumiere glosses
I’ve been ignoring the only Chanel I have in my life. Bad makeup junkie. This weekend I shopped my stash and rediscovered my beloved Chanel Aqualumiere Glosses.
I have #65 Party Red, #66 Freeze, and #69 Glass Quartz. The lipglosses (priced at about $30 each) are smooth, feel light on the lips and appear as sheer glossy washes of colour on the lips. They come with a brush applicator and are thankfully not sticky. They aren’t super long-lasting however so you do need to reapply often — but that’s okay right? It’s Chanel! I’ve been wearing these on their own or paired with lipsticks.
I promise to use these more often because they are super gorgeous — even more so in person than in the pictures.
I have a love/hate relationship with designer makeup like Chanel, Dior and YSL. The few pieces I have from these lines are gorgeous for sure but I always get buyers’ remorse each time I pick up a piece. The price you pay for these types of products is at a premium and I can’t help but think, is it really worth it? For the price of one say Chanel gloss, you could pick up 2 or 3 glosses at the drugstore or 2 MAC glosses. Is ‘quality’ better than quantity? I don’t necessarily agree as I have found gems both on the high and low end.
What do you think?

For the price, I would expect it to be long-lasting :/ The colours are pretty though !

These do look gorgeous on you, but I don't tend to buy too much of this kind of stuff. I'd rather get a couple of MAC items for the same price. I am thinking of trying one of the Chanel foundations at some point, though I'm scared to find out what they retail for!

Wow, all of those colors look really amazing on you! Party Red looks pretty fun…hmmm. But like you said, 'Designer' lip gloss is just not something I would choose to buy for myself. There are so many great, less expensive glosses on the market. If I buy 'designer,' it is for a product I can't get anywhere else, like Touche Eclat.

these are gorge! I only got one glossimer (Jupiter – sparkly red). But I do wanna get more.
I feel buyers remorse after buying Chanel and YSL lippies as well

ohh pretty! Never tried glosses from the Aqualumiere line but have one from the Glossimer line in Beige Guitare which I love! Usually a gloss is just a gloss but this is the only "nude" shade I've found that looks pretty on its own and makes other colours really pop.
Yah, I have a problem with designer brands and the price so I only buy if it's truly a unique product/shade. But Chanel cosmetics are probably the closest I'll ever get to owning anything Chanel! lol

I think there are some drugstore gems, but I'd rather buy HE I *know* I love rather than waste money trying out new d/s products, or buying lower-quality mid-end that I know I won't use in the end. The LM stickglosses are pricey (though not as pricey as Chanel or Dior!) but I LOVE every single one I have and I'm about to get my 7th in the mail! So, to me they're definitely worth it.
I don't think I'd ever buy a HE gloss though, even though the Chanel ones are soooooo pretty in the tube. I just don't wear gloss enough to justify it. I barely even buy d/s gloss because my sad little collection just languishes on my vanity table lol…

I like that phrase.. shopped my stash lol are these glosses a sheer and non sparkly version of the glossimers? I only own one chanel lipgloss and its a glossimer but havent tried the aqualumiere glosses.
I think its a hit or miss on both ends.. also personally preference
