"Come Home to Mama" — Chanel Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle
I had a serious lemming for Chanel’s newly launched Rouge Coco lipsticks. I mean serious. (Why do we say lemming when we want something?)
But the price (and last week, a scary looking sales associate) kept me at bay. These beautiful lipsticks are priced in the same range as my beloved YSL Rouge Voluptes ($38 Canadian…I know, yikes!). But the lemming continued..and intensified.
After reading great reviews and seeing swatches, including by Krasey Beauty and Shadowy Lady, it all became too much. And with no birthday in sight in the near future and Mother’s Day months away, it was ‘come to home to mama’ time for Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. This is the colour worn by Vanessa Paradis in the promo ads apparently.
Mademoiselle is such a lovely peachy coral colour that I think would flatter a lot of different skin tones. Seriously, look at different reviews about this colour and you’ll see how different but beautiful it looks on all sorts of skintones. The lipstick is creamy in texture and feels luxurious on the lips. Mademoiselle for me is a perfect every day colour — but with a kick. I feel sophisticated and pretty when I have this lipstick on. If you haven’t checked these out in person, it’s worth a look. There’s probably a colour that’s right up your alley.
What have you indulged in lately?

Ooh, such a gorgeous colour. I'm wondering whether or not to grab Santal or Ming (similar to Madamoiselle) in the Laque formula.

I want to get mademoiselle so bad! I've never had any chanel make up so this would be my first! I tried to get it on the saks site as they sent me a $25 off coupon, but they didn't have it (or anything else I wanted for that matter). Very jealous! Maybe this week I'll score it.

Dang it. I was really trying to avoid having to buy this, but I guess I'm going to have to!

Apparently the word Lemming came from the early 90s PC game "Lemmings" where the whole object of the game was to control a bunch of weasel like animals to prevent them from falling off a cliff into the ocean.
Used in the blogging world where one blogger falls in love with a certain object, and inspires others to "fall" too xD
I've been staying far away from these lippies since they've been out, but damnit now I have to get it!

I was so disapointed with Mademoiselle
I spent weeks staring at the ad, wanting it, needing it, and trying to find a way to justify the price to myself. So I broke down and went to buy it…and it looked horrible on me!! I was so sad. For a few minutes at least until I tried on #23, Rouge Orage, which now has a happy home with me. BEst lipstick I have ever bought, totally woth the price.
