Iluminate me: Estee Lauder’s Ideal Light (review)
As you know, I am on a mission to find products that conceal, cover and brighten. On to ‘brighten.’ Today, I wanted to chat about Estee Lauder’s Ideal Light, a brush-on illuminator that I purchased before Christmas.
I have the colour #03 Medium. This product does help to brighten my eye area and conceals darker areas near my nose. I like how light-weight it feels and it doesn’t sink into any lines. It does not look cakey at all once applied.
That said, this isn’t a good concealer for spots/blemishes as it is light in texture and doesn’t give full coverage for that purpose. And the brush? It’s handy…in theory…You have to twist the bottom of the tube to get product into the brush and I find there is often too much product deposited when I do this. I tend to brush on the product on my hand and then use my fingers to blend around my eyes and/or nose.
Overall though, I give this a thumb’s up and if I ever finish it, I will likely repurchase.
Based on reviews I’ve seen, this product seems similar in concept to YSL Touche Eclat and Bobbi Brown’s new product, both of which I’m intriguted to try. Priced at around $30 Canadian, Ideal Light is on the high end, and is available at department stores and online.
Have you tried any products like this? Yay or Nay?

Touche Eclat has been on my list to try forever, I will probably try that one first. Thanks for the review!!

Thanks for following my blog
I've used ideal light about 5 yrs back and I repurchased! In fact I prefer this over the ysl touché éclat which stinks after a few month upon opening (honestly, I have no idea why it does this). I like it. I'll probably repuchase this again when I finish my ysl touché éclat.

I like this in the light pink shade. I use it over a full-coverage concealer under my eyes, and it brightens my whole face up well!

yay for sure! I hate cakey concealers too and would love to try this. Similar ones include Clinique's airbrush concealer which I have heard a lot of raving about
