Blush Bonanza: Joie-de-Vivre and Optomistic Orange by MAC

Hello lovelies. Meet two of my new favorite blushes — Optomistic Orange and Joie-de-Vivre from MAC. Both from my recent birthday haul. One word for these = love. Don’t let the pan colours scare you off — these are true beauties and are swatch-worthy.

Joie-de-Vivre (love this name!) is described by MAC as peachy coral. It looks super bright in the pan but on the cheeks, it gives you a flushed, pretty peachy pink glow — very natural. Optomistic Orange was not one I would have chosen myself but the makeup artist more than convinced me once she applied it on my cheeks. Not orange at all. It gives the most lovely peachy glow. You can apply as heavily or as lightly as you need so I think these two colours could work on a number of skin tones.

These new Cremeblend blushes are very smooth to apply and are long lasting. I apply them with my fingers with a tapping motion (right on the apples) and then blend out. I’d like to get the MAC brush #188 which was what the makeup artist used on me as it apparently helps to really diffuse and apply the colour evenly.
These blushes paired with a little bronzer such as NARS Laguna creates a warm glow. Did I say I really like these?

MAC should make these blushes permanent. My two cents.
