Take a look at the picture below. What do you see? Basic white powder. Boring right? Think again. Looks boring maybe but magic once it's on the skin. This is the infamous NARS Albatross, one of my new loves. I think everyone needs this. I love it that much.
Albatross is one of the most gorgeous highlighters you'll ever come across -- seriously -- it really does give a beautiful glow without being overly shimmery. Appropriate for any age -- even women who are *ahem* in their mid to late 30s -- this looks amazing with any blush. My recent favorite cheek combo has been NARS Laguna bronzer, NARS Desire blush (hot pink), and Albatross to highlight. It is such a natural glowy look almost like you have just stepped in from a brisk walk.
If you haven't swatched this baby yet, I would recommend checking it out. What is your favorite highlighter?
Ok, we're on Day 30 of the 50 Day lipstick challenge. I cheated today as I wore the same lipstick as yesterday. My rediscovered favorite -- MAC's Fast Play, which I wrote about earlier this week. I paired it with Rags to Riches Dazzleglass from MAC again which gave it such a gorgeous sheen. But why do Dazzleglasses have to be so sticky? Hate that. But I do love the shimmer.
I hope you are all having a great weekend. It is very cold in Toronto with temperatures dipping way below zero degrees Celsius. Bring on Spring!!

Albatross seems so pretty! My favorite highlighter is surprisingly from Hard Candy. It's their baked blush in Honeymoon. It kind of looks like a MAC msf.
That's gorgeous! I love how Albatross looks white in the pan but has a wonderful gold sheen when applied. I do;t have this yet but always swatch it at the NARS counter.
Fast play looks good on ya girl!
I don't have Albatross but I want/need it right now, lol
I'm loving Laguna at the moment too
My fav highlighter at the moment is Illume from Hourglass, a lovely soft cream.
Love Albatross!! It's like this unexpected gorgeousness from such a plain looking powder!
Albatross is one of my favourite highlighters but I also love the Bourjois one - smells like chocolate!
fast play looks nice on you.
i tried to do lipstick challenge but i'm always rushing out of the house in the morning i ended using whatever is in my handbag. >.>
Love the lips! Pretty in pink!
Albatross is on my wishlist...my fav highlighter is either Milani Honey and Pink Glimmer Stipes.
Great job! Cute blog. I'm going to start following.

Hmmm. I actually haven't swatched Albatross yet! I went and swatched all the NARS blushes at Sephora (well almost all of them) for fun but I didn't swatch Albatross or Nico. I think it's because I have quite a few highlighters already lol. How would you compare it to Nico, btw?
I find them way too sticky too! I'd expect more from MAC LOL
Anyawy, yes great sales @ Zara, but the store I went to?! A TOTAL MESS. It's new in town, and I think people were over excited with it, but geez...they throw everything, and mix things, so you never know how much the item you want costs!
And it was way too crowded!
Are Zara stores that messy there too?
I think I have never seen so much mess in one store, not even at Primark, Oxford Street!!!
@Maria Elizabeth: I'm curious about Hard Candy. I'm not sure where to get it in Canada though
@Su-pah: You need to get this highlighter lady! I know it's right up your alley ;-)
@Gabriela: I use Laguna every day! I might actually hit pan sometime.LOL. I am curious about Hourglass products too but it's not available here.
@XOVintage: I have the Bourjois one too - love it!
@Mocha Mish Mash: We only finally started to get a limited number of Milani products here. I hope they extend the line here to include blushes etc.!
@Jonesy: Thank you!
@Catherine: Nico is very different from Albatross. Nico is more a of diffuser of colour if that makes any sense, it is more subtle. Albatross adds luminosity to your blush. I have both and now love both!
@Lydia:The stores here do get very messy too after a few days after the sale starts. I don't like going in when it's like that -- too much work digging for sizes. But you found some great stuff though!
I like the look of albatross however its way to pricey for a highlighter otherwise I would get it :( My fave highlighters are Revlon Skinlights Illuminator and Illamsqua brozoner duo :)
@Shifa: You are right for sure. It is pricey so it's worth waiting for a Sephora sale to pick this up for those in North America. I haven't tried Revlon Skinlights-- will check it out. Illamasqua is out of my reach here in Canada unless I fork out $$ for shipping. :-(
Oooh, now i'm going to have to go a-swatiching :D
I love your blog!! I just found it via "Saltwater Dreams". This is definitely a product I've been wanting to try. Currently I'm using MAC's Accentuate. It's good, not great. When I finish my round of "Project 10 Pan", I'll definitely give this a try!
