When it comes to blogging, I've become a bit obsessive about:
- photos of the day. It's amazing to me how many shots it takes before I'm happy with the result. I always feel a bit ridiculous primping and posing and taking photos of myself. If my neighbours were to see me through the window, they would probably think I was on something. And I still feel a bit uneasy even posting photos of me on the site. But everyone is so supportive that I feel okay after a while.
-my blog layout. The husband, who does web design and development, still owes me a new site redesign but our lives are so busy it's hard to find the time. So I'm always looking at new layouts and throwing them his way for 'inspiration' or as a reminder -- I'm a good wife after all!
-thinking of unique headlines and topics. The ideas for posts are always running through my head at weirdest times of the day. I should write them down right away as I tend to forget!
-finding new items to review, whether brand new products or products I already own. Whether I'm grocery shopping or wandering the department store aisles, I'm thinking about and looking for potential new products to review. It's become so hard not to pick up items randomly as it's easy to say it is 'for the blog!'
- checking to see if my favorite bloggers have posted. The list of blogs I follow continues to grow and grow and now include home design and fashion blogs...but there are a few blogs I check daily such as Vex in the City, Liparazzi, Belle du Jour, London Makeup Girl, the Gloss Goss, and more!
- checking what everyone is tweeting about and who has tweeted about a new post. Even though I'm not usually tweeting till the end of day Toronto time, I sneak a peek when I wake up and before I go to bed.

Haha I'm exactly the same! (Except I tweak the design myself using my extremely basic html skills, and I've managed to avoid Twitter up to now despite everyone in the entire world using it)!
I also take a hundred photos before I find one that is just about acceptable. And the whole time, I'm saying to myself "Maaaan how do all the other bloggers manage such good photos all the time??" I blame it on my camera to make myself feel better. Your photos are great though!
And I admit to using the "It's for the blog!" excuse a *lot*!
i always think about my blog when i go shopping !! i like to purchase things i don't really hear to much about so everyone isn't reading the same old reviews all the time !
Heeheehee. I'm like you. Recently, since I have piles of material to get through (and I've sort of made a wager with myself to not buy any new polish 'till I'm through my scheduled posts), I've been a bit better about not caving on products just to review for the blog. I'm a bit more easy-going on the layout too since I designed mine myself. I obsessed with it when I first created it but now I don't worry about it so much.
What I obsess most about for blogging is taking quality photos. I will not take photos that aren't in indirect sunlight and I can take TONS of photos trying to get exactly the right one. Weirdly enough, I think I take more product photos than FOTDs!! And incidentally, that's what's kept me so held up! I just don't have time in the mornings during the winter to take good product photos before I have to start my day. =/ I've gotten my lighting, angle and poses pretty down for FOTDs though and I usually only need one test shot and two "poses," and then I'll retake only if the images are blurry. (So on average about 3-5 minutes.) But it took a long time to perfect! LOL.
It seems that I wrote everything above :)
But if you are posting the FOTD I still don't because I am not happy with the photos most of the time.
And I have a feeling that most beauty bloggers have BFs and husbands "who do web design and development" lol
i'm obsessed about getting a good photo too! well not perfect since it's hard with my crappy phonecam. just something that looks good, fits the topic of the post.
i'm also obsessed about getting a good unique title too! however good titles come when i'm not in front of my computer and by the time i'm ready to post, they're gone! :/
Hi hun! I too am obsessed with FOTD photos, my husband swears I'm INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE, lol. I have so many blogs to read that if I miss one day I have 1000+ unread posts to read...eek! I don't know a thing about html so I am just sticking to basic right now =/ womp womp
Finding new items to review is my favorite of them all!!!
BTW - I have a new post on my blog with me using MAC's Show Orchid, not red, but it's surely bright! Not sure if it counts for what you're looking for :)
