QOTD: Do you have a budget for your makeup purchases?
I am exhausted. There was nothing on TV, the kids are in bed and I’m too tired to read book 5 of the Sookie Stackhouse series. So, I’ve spent the last hour and a half catching up on blog reading. Read some interesting posts and found some new blogs to follow including Robert Smith’s Mistress who has written some reviews on Illamasqua, one of my new obsessions. Check out her blog. It’s a good read.
OK, I’ll keep this short. Again, my guilt has set in in terms of how much money I spend on makeup. I have gotten a bit better about selecting specific products from a collection and not just buying for the sake of buying it because it is ‘pretty.’
Take for example, MAC’s Colour Craft. A year ago, I would have swooped in and bought a bunch of MSFs, blushes and shadows. This year, though I tried not to buy, I did end up with a small haul — Fad-dabulous blush, Eclectic Edge gloss and Made with Love lipstick. All very lovely.
But I really do have to stop the purchasing and curb it even more. So I think I’ll establish a stricter budget moving forward. No more purchases for the rest of July and in August, maybe set aside $50 per pay cheque for ‘discretionary’ i.e. makeup spending.
We’ll see how it goes. Do you have a makeup budget? Any tips for me?
