Be My Guest: Review of Cover Girl’s Outlast Lipstain
Welcome to a new series on Lipstick Rules — Be My Guest. This series will feature product reviews from guest bloggers. First up is my friend Terra who has been so gracious and patient with me as I update her daily on my adventures in beauty blog land. Here’s Terra’s view on a product from Cover Girl:
I admit it. I’m not really a Drew Barrymore fan. When I saw her recently on her new TV spot speaking about Cover Girl’s new Outlast Lipstain, I turned to my fiancé and grumbled, “I don’t know what happened, but I’m just not a Drew Barrymore fan anymore….but odds are I’ll buy that lipstick.”
Within 12 hours, I proved myself right. I’m now the proud owner of Cinnamon Smile, one of the 10 colours within CG’s new Outlast Lipstain line.
I bought it during a lunch outing during work, and was so excited to try, I tore off the plastic wrap and tried it out as soon as I got back to my desk.
It’s a stain, so I like that it feels weightless on. No clumps or bumps or typical lipstick feel. Some people have likened the applicator to a Sharpie and I agree. But remember, it’s a stain, so be careful when applying. I gave myself a cinnamon moustache that was hard to remove ‘til
I got the hang of application.
Lipstain has what I consider to be a nice taste too. So, if you easily revert to being a 10-year-old like I do sometimes, be careful or you’ll lick your lips one too many times and your stain’s gone.
Overall, I give it a B+ for look and overall wear, so definitely worth a try. Would give it higher marks if the colour selection had a few more “natural” looking shades. Sorry Drew.
Anyone else try these lip stains? Let me know what you think of them and this new series. Cheers, Michelle
